Jamie Parsley was elected the inaugural President of the North Dakota State Poetry Society in 2025. The society brings together poets and readers from across the state.
It joins a long record of service to poetry in North Dakota: he was named an Associate Poet Laureate of the state in 2004 by Poet Laureate Larry Woiwode, and has been Poet-in-Residence at Concordia College in Moorhead since 2021.
